Description From the beginning of the new millennium a new trend in art can be see, which we can call The Arts and Crafts 2.0. It is a development of the traditional arts and crafts, which also use new technologies such as tools for production and promotion. With a case study in the city of Brno, we aim to show that applied arts and handicrafts do not stagnate but are in fact going through a boom. These tendencies can be seen in, for example, bakery products and desserts, and in the field of embroideries which combine traditional techniques and motives with new materials, ingredients and technologies. The creators follow, in the same way as John Ruskin did, the aesthetical and social visions of the handwork, but these new trends are neither organized, nor united. Therefore, the objective of the paper is to show some of the unifying signs of their aesthetics.
