Description In the period of 1920-1922, the Brno composer Pavel Haas (1899-1944) studied compositions in the master class of Leoš Janáček. Notes by Pavel Haas, similarly to the notes by some of Haas' classmates, capture the lectures in Janáček's master class in which Janáček focused on the psychological course of composing (complication composing), motives, architectonics of compositions and Moravian folk songs. The lectures document Janáček's conception of teaching composition at the master school, his manner of pedagogical work and the findings which Janáček tried to teach his students. Evidence of the course of the teaching in individual lessons of composition are the preserved seminar works by Haas along with some of his own compositions with frequent corrections by Janáček.
