Citation
Description In Plautus' Curculio, there are many legal terms and notions mentioned, both intentional and unintentional. One group of them is connected with the character of Planesium, who is a free person, but is considered being a slave the major part of the play. Thus, she is (supposedly) the object of purchase and theft. This paper examines to which extent it corresponds to the legal regulation and how the situation changes after the proof that she is not a slave.
