Description Traffic crimes are a unique type of criminal activity. These are usually negligent crimes with characteristic offenders and typing of imposed sanctions. The perpetrator is often first-time convicted or repeatedly punished for a traffic crime. Judges often choose lenient penalties, either alternative sanctions or repeatedly suspended sentence. The question is how appropriate this sanction approach is convenient and really effective. It is not possible to answer these questions entirely by legal theory, but it is also necessary to take into perspective of the practice. The article processes a research focusing on the opinions of judges of the Supreme Court. Their practice is long-term, varied and stabilized in opinion. The article deals with the current setting of the sanctioning annotations for punishment of traffic crimes and its application in practice.
