Description The Turiec region in the interwar Czechoslovak Republic had very specific electoral behaviour of voters. The main goal of our study is to determine the population’s electoral preferences based on demographic indicators - religion and nationality. Using municipality level aggregate data from the three parliamentary elections (1925, 1929, and 1935), we try to find the answer to our main goal. In our study, we apply quantitative methods such as correlation and regression analysis. Their reliability is tested using known nationality and denomination distributions from the 1930 census. Our findings support the assertions about the importance of national and religious division lines in party support in interwar Slovakia.
