| Description | In the present study the author deals with N. S. Leskov's novel called Soboryane from the genre point of view. Focusing on Demikotonovaya kniga written by a novel's character Savely Tuberozov, the author determines the specifics of the diary, its place and function in the novel, and compares Tuberozov's diary with other diaries in Russian literature of the 19th century. |
