| Description | One of influencing factor of educational level of students is their socio-economic background. Despite the fact that Czech Republic provides education free of charge at all of levels, there are still several economic barriers in access. The key role in the non-systematical barriers plays standard living costs which are important especially for non-residents of university town. Efforts to overcome economic barriers are realized on different levels. There exist several ways how to overcome economic barriers. The first way is based on individual activities, second on support of institutions and the last one on state legislative system of social and educational support. The traditional ways are well traced, but there exist also alternative path to overcoming economic barriers. This pat his through military service and its university. This way offers to student stable economic background, but require fulfilling military service obligation. Thanks to this system is he / she able to cover the costs of the study independently. This alternative way of overcoming economic barriers is examined in this work through the motivation of students to study and their socio-economic background. In this context is goal of this work to confirm our hypothesis, that University of Defense is due to the financial motivation for students an alternative way to overcome economic barriers to access to education. |
