| Description | This empirical essay focuses on answering the main research question: “How do children placed in a facility for children in need of immediate assistance experience being transferred to a childrens home?” The terms social protection of children, facilities for children in need of immediate assistance, childrens home, children in need and experiencing are defined. The research was carried out with 9 children aged 11-17 years out of 3 facilities that were to be transferred to a childrens home. It was based on a qualitative strategy and used techniques of semi-structured interviews, observation and analysis of documents. Children have been shown to be at risk of being relocated from facilities requiring immediate assistance to orphanages, and this situation is so burdensome for them to have a significant negative impact on their lives (including physical and mental health). |
