| Description | Pressure ulcers (bedsores and sores) are a serious complication of the overall health of the patient, especially if it is a patient with limited mobility or multiple medical devices that may be the cause of damage to tissues and mucous membranes by pressure. Patients with cancer are generally at higher risk of developing pressure ulcers, and therefore it is necessary to use appropriate procedures for early identification of skin changes and signs of damage and individualized preventive procedures. If the pressure ulcer is detected in time (category 1 and 2), there is a scientifically proven high probability healing. The risk of pressure ulcers in oncological care must lead to the implementation of individualized preventive measures. However, the onset of pressure ulcers must not be the cause of resignation for quality care. |
