| Description | The "Digital curation" took place on February 19th. The primary objective of the workshop was to present the digital curation and its principles as an approach to digital preservation. Participants were introduced to the important standards, terminology, and tools used by the digital curators and they learned about the history of digital preservation. Special attention has been paid to the importance of planning and management of digital preservation tasks in institutions. During the hands-on training the participants had an opportunity to try several tools for file format identification, validation and migration, e.g. jhove, siegfried or unoconv. |
