| Description | The chapter focuses on the history of traveling in the Giant Mountains and is mostly limited to the 19th century when the mountains became a popular destination not only for Czech tourists. The material here is the widely understood Czech travel literature, i.e. works written in both Czech and German (in the case of German texts, the authors included authors whose biographies show that they are at least minimally related to Czech territory). The text mainly presents the motivations of travelers and their perception of the Czech mountains, which underwent a dynamic transformation in the 19th century. |
