| Description | Annotation in the program of the exhibition: The new archivist is the name of a project in which we are experimenting with the use of artificial neural networks as a non-human curator. The video has an illustrative and educational character. It visualizes and describes the cognitive processes realized by artificial neural networks in the processing of a dataset consisting of a thousand visual traces of art projects and everyday recordings reflecting the experience of the new coronavirus pandemic, which were collected as part of the Black Box project. The AI-curator created by us deals with the collected material in its own way, minimally influenced by the experience with visual traces of human existence, to provide us with an (un)aesthetic interpretation of this global collective experience, to which we are unable to take a critical distance. |
