| Description | The post-war years in the furniture industry have not yet been comprehensively processed, there is no publication in which this period has been expertly evaluated. The basic picture of furniture development is provided by magazine articles that have published feedback on fairs and exhibitions, information on new production designs, data on awards, medallions of designers and theoretical studies. An idea of the product mix and production range of individual furniture companies can be obtained from catalogues, offer leaflets and company prints, published regularly or for important company anniversaries. The most important source, however, is archival material. In the absence of a critical evaluation based on knowledge of all the factors that influenced the development of the furniture industry and housing culture, we often see widespread rejection of almost everything that was created during the period. However, this point of view is one-sided and biased. The contribution will present the basic guidelines for the development of post-war furniture, manufacturers and research on this issue in the last period. |
