Description Coated spherical matrix pellets, consisting of a core and a coating, containing an immobilized enzyme based on cholinesterases such as acetylcholinesterase and/or butyrylcholinesterase, with an activity of 1 to 100 kat.g-1, wherein the enzyme is in the cores immobilized on a porous, water-insoluble anorganic material, preferably aluminium metasilicate, and these cores are coated with a semipermeable coating of a water-insoluble polymer, preferably based on acrylate derivatives, where the total concentration of the coating is 1 to 10 % weight of coated spherical matrix pellets and the average size of coated spherical matrix pellets being at least from 75 % in the range of 0.1 to 3.0 mm, preferably 0.8 to 1.25 mm, wherein the pellet cores are produced by extrusion-spheronization and the coating is applied by fluid bed spraying and the resulting coated spherical matrix pellets are used to detect cholinesterase inhibitors in the form of a detection tube containing such coated spherical matrix pellets.
