| Description | With the growing number of people living in unmarried cohabitation, the question arises as to whether it should continue to represent only an alternative model of the family standing next to the traditional institution of marriage, where the state should tolerate its actual existence without further legislation. Or, on the other hand, unmarried cohabitation is a full-fledged basis for family life, which must be explicitly defined by legislation? At the same time, many legislators in European countries responded to this issue and adopted comprehensive legislation for unmarried cohabitation. The Czech Republic still lacks such regulation, however, in certain respects the legislator takes into account persons living outside marriage in private law regulation. |
