| Description | The exhibition focuses on the repetitive aspects of expression in contemporary Czech and Slovak art in confrontation with selected works by major figures of the second half of the 20th century. The need for repetition or multiplication of elementary elements is closely related to the instinctive need for order that has accompanied mankind since time immemorial. But the repetition of individual elements, such as a point, a line or a particular motif or gesture, also leads to shifts in meaning, which can manifest themselves in very different ways - from thematization of the essence and structure of works of art, symmetry, order, system, processuality, recontextualization, to questions of identity, originality and authenticity of artistic creation. |
