Description The paper deals with the issue of cross-border police cooperation, with the author focusing mainly on cooperation within the EU. The introductory part of the text deals with general explanations concerning cross-border police cooperation and briefly outlines the historical development of this cooperation. In the second part of the text, the author then focuses on the individual institutions that are central to police cooperation within the EU. The final part is devoted to individual forms of cooperation in the context of procedural aspects of Czech legislation. The aim of the article is to provide a brief overview of the possibilities of police cooperation within the EU, as in the author's opinion this is a very important area with significant perspectives. In view of globalisation and ongoing European integration, cross-border police cooperation will become increasingly important in the fight against crime. The text was originally written as a paper for the European Criminal Law course led by Prof. JUDr. Jaroslav Fenyk, Ph. D., Dsc., Univ. Priv. Prof.
