| Description | The article deals with the amendment to criminal regulations implemented by Act No. 114/2020 Coll., Effective from 1 June 2020. According to the statement in the explanatory memorandum to the proposal, the aim of the new criminal law regulation was to increase animal protection and regulate stricter penalties for inappropriate animal handling. During the presentation, I tried to answer the questions whether it was necessary to introduce a new penalty of banning the keeping and breeding of animals for natural persons and especially for legal entities, whether the length of this sentence, which can be imposed on legal entities up to 20 years, is appropriate and we could rather not deal with it through the norms of administrative law. |
