| Description | The guest lecture at the law faculty in Vienna analysed the legal relationship between citizenship and the right of domicile in the Austrian monarchy and its successor states: The First Austrian Republic and the First Czechoslovak Republic. These two interrelated phenomena served to protect individuals and identify them. State citizenship could not be acquired without being granted the right of domicile. The lecturer examined the problematic legal situation regarding the acquisition of state citizenship in the successor states following the break-up of the Habsburg monarchy. |
