| Description | In his study of Jan Fischer, which is part of the new collected edition of the stories of Rychlé šípy (Albatros 2021), Tomáš Prokůpek mentions that the first "clone" of Rychlé šípy appeared as early as the end of 1940 in the Catholic magazine Anděl strážný. In my paper I will focus on this magazine and the life of the picture series in it - from the first steps and imitation of successful models through experiments with the genre of "comic lives of saints" until the complete banning of the magazine in 1948. Thus, in a limited space of time and not very extensive material, we can trace the process by which comics occupied a new space, and in which the comic communication code was articulated - not only taking into account the expressive specifics of the narrative in the panels, but also the selected group of readers. |
