Description The software responsible for the functioning of the diagnostic system GIS – Invenio integrates individual games/subtests into a unified environment, and provides backend through which users can set testing parameters, work with user accounts, evaluate the results and export acquired data. The GIS – Invenio system is designed for screening cognitive abilities and socio-emotional skills of primary school students. It comprises several subtests, each of which is focused on one ability in the CHC theory of intelligence framework. Individual subtests are administered through a web browser. The whole system makes use of the GBA paradigm: subtests are framed as computer games, including gamified features (simple narrative, comics, sounds, points, etc.). Subtests are integrated in a way in which they follow up with each other within the game story: the player embarks on a space adventure, together with a robot A.C.E. (Artificial Cosmic Explorer) and his canine friend and helper – Vincent van Dog. Together they discover new planets (each planet represents a particular subtest). Besides user interface for the players (students) themselves, an interface for their parents is also part of the system. Here can parents/legal guardians create their profile and that of their child(ren), can provide informed consent with the testing and immediately after the testing, they can find their automatically generated report. Another part of the system is an interface for teachers, where they can create a profile of the individual classes, into which are assigned children with parental consent. The fourth part of the interface is intended for administrators, who can set up institutions, create and change individual subtests, export data etc. Another part of the system is a separate, experimental module, which enables to change easily the content of the subtests (e.g. to research ends), without jeopardizing the integrity of the data registered during the routine operation of the system.
