Description The Convention for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage from 2003 provides a model for the safeguarding of ICH. Governments all over the world have adopted the ICH framework as a national policy and implemented projects at local and national levels. The paper presents the way this practice works in the Czech Republic. The research of ICH in the Czech Republic focuses mainly on the manifestations of traditional folk culture in cooperation with the National Institute of Folk Culture. What is the current direction of research activities? Are there any challenges or inspirations for better care for the ICH?
