Heliophila verna (Brassicaceae), a new species from the Northern Cape of South Africa

• Description: The new species Heliophila verna is described, illustrated, and its distinguishing characters from the related glabrous annuals, especially H. namaquana is discussed. Its chromosome number (2n = 18) is reported here.
