Description The design of the plasma unit uses a discharge excited in hydrodynamic cavitation adapted to the treatment of large volumes of water. The water is treated at a flow rate of 15000 l/hr for the large unit and 1500 l/hr for the smaller unit. At speed the number of passes can be controlled and therefore the degree of decontamination can be regulated of the purified water. The optimum amount of photocatalyst to be added is 0.5-1%. Tests were carried out mainly for 1, 3 and 5 passes, the capacity of the large plasma chemistry unit can be reduced up to 3000 l/hr, in the case of a smaller unit to only 300 l/hr.
