Description The Brno Reads Bruno Festival is a four-day festival promoting the work of Bruno Schulz in the Czech Republic, held on the anniversary of the author's death. The main aim is a balanced concept of academic and cultural part with the aim of an annual meeting of leading schulzologists from abroad, students, readers and the general public over the work of this important interwar Polish-Jewish writer, painter and graphic artist from Halych, whose great admirer was Bohumil Hrabal, but whose personality is also connected with Franz Kafka. The members of the Friends of Bruno Schulz Society are cooperating with students and teachers of Polish and Ukrainian studies from Masaryk University in Brno to prepare the festival. As part of the dramaturgical concept of the current edition of Brno Reads Bruno , the individual programme sections also focus on the personality of Franz Kafka, as this year marks the 100th anniversary of the death of this Jewish writer. The title of this year's festival was Kafka and Schulz - (Not) Lost in Translation.
