| Description | In this paper, we demonstrate, using four examples of onyms from Yevgeny Zamyatin's novel WE, how important it is during the translation process to maintain ties between elements that constitute the system of imagery and motifs in the original text, which is a specific artistic structure. To address this translator's challenge, we propose possible approaches, comparing them with existing Polish, English, French, and Czech versions of Zamyatin's novel. Methodologically, our study draws on Katharina Reiss's text typology and Mikhail Gasparov's concept of stylistic perspective. |
