Description | The Brno-Belgrade Colloquium took place on 8 October 2024 in the lecture hall of the Dietrichstein Palace of the Moravian Museum (and was thus also an expression of the long-standing cooperation between the Institute of Slavonic Studies of the Faculty of Arts of Masaryk University and the Moravian Museum). The tradition of the Brno-Belgrade Colloquium dates back to 2006, when it was founded by professors Ivo Pospíšil (1952), Bogoljub Stanković (1938-2011) and Petar Bunjak (1960). Since then, the colloquia have been held every two to three years alternately in Belgrade and Brno, and are thus an outstanding example of the long-standing cooperation between the Institute of Slavonic Studies of the Faculty of Arts of Masaryk University and the Department of Slavonic Studies of the University of Belgrade. This fact, however, by no means implies, and the history of the colloquia proves, that these scientific meetings were limited to these two departments. The colloquia always present the results of contemporary Slavic research from both departments, and from all Slavic disciplines. The colloquium also remembered the father of Brno Slavonic and Balkan studies, Prof. Ivo-N Dorovský, PhD (1934-2021), on the occasion of his 90th birthday. The colloquium was an opportunity to exchange scientific and research results of both departments and was a contribution to Slavic Studies as a whole. New impulses for further cooperation between the two Slavic departments were also outlined. |
