Description | The school environment is a key framework for students' development not only academically but also socially and emotionally. In this context, the school social pedagogue plays a key role in promoting positive student behaviour and effective behaviour management. This paper presents key aspects of this issue. The first point is the identification of the main challenges in pupil behaviour and the importance of the role of the social pedagogue in addressing them. Next, the prevention strategies and interventions used by the social educator to prevent sociopathological phenomena are presented. The data presented is a partial result of a mixed research design (mainly the qualitative part). The data collection took the form of questionnaires and interviews with social pedagogues in practice. A complementary method was participant observation. Data analysis took the form of qualitative content analysis. The final part of the paper is devoted to the collaboration of the social pedagogue with teachers, school administrators and parents, with the aim of creating a comprehensive and effective system in the context of managing the behaviour of pupils in a given school. We also emphasize the importance of teamwork and communication between all actors in the educational process. |
