| Description | The workshop is a 3-hour CLIL session integrating language and social and historical context through drama in ELT. It starts with general work on characters without setting a specific time in history, thinking about ages and stages and their connected characteristics and feelings. Then, moving into the 14th century, where the story takes place, using a timeline and KWL poster to find out how much the participants know about the target time, after which they get the story's main characters and work on their stories in groups, regularly coming back to the timeline to fill in further details. This drama lesson was assisted by 2 students, Markéta Kyselová, a student of archaeology (FFMU) giving a session on the 14th century from the points of view of her subject, and Kristýna Dohnalová, a student of fashion and design (SSUD), giving a session on the period fashion and fabric manufacturing due to the fact that Anne of Luxembourg brought Czech fashion to the 14th century England. |
