Description The text is a review study analyzing the emergence and development of artistic movements related to spiritualism, naive art, and eventually outsider art within the territory of the Czech Republic from the establishment of the First Czechoslovak Republic to the present. It describes representative figures of these movements, the artistic work of individual authors as well as the institutions that supported them. In its contemporary section, it focuses primarily on the significance of studios, art collectors, research centers, and their gallery activities that inclusively support the work of artists with otherness within the current gallery landscape in the Czech Republic and abroad. The text of the chapter is written in the form of an encyclopedia and a lexicon of artists, developed on a scholarly basis within the discipline of art history, as is evident from the introductory sections of the book.
