Description The aim of the technology is to increase the adhesion of nanofibers prepared by electrospinning to polymer substrates by activation with atmospheric plasma. The standard equipment for in-line production of filter materials using electrospinning on our own production line with the NS 8S1600U device was supplemented with a plasma source, which activates the area to which the nanofibers are subsequently attached before spinning. To improve the properties of breathable flexible polymer substrates while ensuring homogeneous and non-destructive treatment, a stand-alone plasma module with implemented DCSBD discharge units is used, along which the activated substrate moves in close contact. The main advantage of the proposed technology is that it allows stabilization of the activated surface and provides protection against mechanical damage (rupture) of the processed substrate while maintaining speeds suitable for the preparation of filter nanofiber materials. In practice, it can very effectively replace complicated chemical “wet” methods of substrate activation or expensive additional equipment, such as the so-called adhesion modules.
