Description The issue of crimes related to extremism is one of the most topical issues of our time, not only in the Czech Republic, but throughout Europe. That is why this article is devoted to it. It focuses on the fact that there is no universal definition. Each of the law enforcement authorities works with its own definition, but they are basically identical and overlapping in their content. The main part of the article then discusses selected aspects of this phenomenon, which is associated with hate crimes in the Czech environment, taking into account related case law and statistical data. In this context, it does not neglect the person of the perpetrator of these crimes, their victims and, of course, the issue of prevention.
