| Description | The brochure entitled ‘The Best Way To Worship Is To Follow In Their Footsteps’ is a small guide to the travelling panel exhibition of the same name, prepared by the Masaryk University Archives to mark the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II. The subtitle of the brochure, ‘The Masaryk University Professoriate and the Second World War’, suggests to whom the main attention is paid. Fifteen stops above the medallions of professors from the faculties of medicine, philosophy, science and law are based on archival documents and set in the context of the events connected with the forced closure of Czech universities and the anti-Nazi resistance, in which all these professors were involved and forever silenced. Taking stock of the losses during the war is extremely serious for Masaryk University, but it also points to the enormous bravery and exemplary moral strength of the researchers, which should not only be honoured but also emulated. |
