| Description | Realia and sociocultural competence are an important part of both gene ral education and the teaching of language (in this case Czech). From the point of view of teaching, these are in practice primarily national realia. In many contexts it is necessary to proportionally emphasize regional elements, i.e. in the Czech context Czech in a narrower sense, Moravian and Silesian realia. The authors argue this has not been done suffi ciently and present a concept and defi nition of Moravian -Silesian realia and discuss some concrete examples. The article also presents the results of a survey of Czech teachers on the topic of Moravian -Silesian realia, the exam on realia for Czech citizenship and selected textbooks on Czech as a target language. |
