| Description | The case report describes empirical antibiotic therapy for infectious intra-abdominal complications following gynecological surgery as a gradual escalation of antibiotic treatment to the reserve antibiotic ceftazidime/avibactam. A patient with a congenital developmental defect of the reproductive organs was recently diagnosed with an adnexal tumor after treatment for a urinary tract infection and underwent resection of the right adnexa.
