| Description | Self-efficacy plays a key role in the process of foreign language learning, influencing students’ motivation, perseverance, and overall performance. This pilot study explores the use of reflective journals to monitor changes in English learners’ self -efficacy over an 8-week period during which they complete activities aimed at providing mastery experience. Students were given clear guidelines for writing their entries, which were then subjected to thematic analysis using inductive coding. The analysis focuses on patterns in the perception of progress and belief in future success. Initial results suggest that structured reflection can offer valuable insights into the development of students’ confidence. The study also discusses the potential application of this tool in a broader context. |
