Description The article presents the results of a study of multiphase solid inclusions (MSI) in garnets from pyroxenite veins within a peridotite body at Zöblitz in the Saxothuringian Zone of the Bohemian Massif. Based on the study of mineral assemblages in MSI, the chemical composition of individual minerals, and the reconstructed bulk chemical composition of MSI, the nature of the metasomatic medium trapped in garnets is interpreted. The results are compared with MSI from other metasomatized garnet peridotites of the Bohemian Massif, and the significance of metasomatism by CO2-rich fluids and melts in the mantle rocks of this area is evaluated.
