| Description | Children with neuromuscular disorders are at risk of developing dysphagia and dysarthria, which may negatively affect their health status and quality of life. Early screening of dysphagia and dysarthria is crucial for initiating timely and appropriate intervention. This contribution presents a literature review focused on the adaptation of the Dutch screening tool LINMA-k for the identification of signs of dysphagia and dysarthria in the pediatric population with neuromuscular disease. The review summarizes current knowledge on available screening tools and their use in clinical practice. The findings of the review serve as a theoretical framework for subsequent phases of the adaptation of the LINMA-k tool. |
