| Description | Despite several changes in the intensity and nature of family and reproductive behavior, the family still represents the most important social collectivity in which the majority of the population in Slovakia lives. The results of the 2021 Population and Household Census allow for a detailed analysis of changes in family households, not only at the national but also at the regional level. The structural analysis of couple and one-parent families in the districts of Slovakia was the main goal of this paper. We focused not only on spatial differences in the representation of these types of family households, but also specifically analysed the presence of cohabitations, or the size of families by number of members. Finally, we attempted a kind of typology of lone parent families and cohabitations according to the marital status of the persons at their head. |
