Citation
Description The 10th anniversary conference focused on current issues of economic crime, which, in addition to the activities of law enforcement agencies, also significantly affect the position and activities of municipalities and regions (criminal activity related to public procurement and public tenders, criminal activity in the area of subsidies, criminal activity in the area of economic competition, fraudulent activities in cyberspace in the area of cashless payments, protection of the financial interests of the European Union, and criminal liability of legal entities). On the first day of the conference, invited guests gave presentations on tax crimes in the area of agency employment, economic crime and its procedural specifics, cybercrime in the area of cashless payments, criminal activity related to public procurement and public tenders (from the perspective of the Czech Republic and Slovakia), and subsidy fraud, which sparked a very stimulating discussion. On the second day of the conference, presentations were given (among others) on criminal activity in the area of public procurement, specific forms of economic crime, extended confiscations and non-criminal confiscations, cryptocurrencies, the criminal liability of legal entities, and proceedings against them. This part of the conference also featured a half-day debate and valuable insights into the current state of economic crime, its prevention, detection, investigation, and punishment.
