| Description | We report the first record of the rare Braun’s holly fern (Polystichum braunii) from the Nízký Jeseník Mts., Czech Republic. A single plant was found in a scree forest within a narrow valley of a small tributary of the Moravice River. The stand is floristically close to the association Lunario-Aceretum. The occurrence is likely facilitated by the site’s cold and humid microclimate, which may thus represent an outpost of an environment favourable for long-distance colonization. Alternatively, the plant may represent a relic of a formerly more widespread population |
