| Description | The publication Czech as a Second Language. Supplement to the Graduate Teacher Competency Framework presents a systematically developed framework of professional competencies for teachers of Czech as a second language. It defines key areas of subject-specific, didactic, sociocultural, and reflective expertise and structures them according to three stages of professional development (graduate, novice teacher, experienced teacher). The document responds to the changing conditions of contemporary schooling marked by linguistic and cultural diversity and emphasizes the importance of multilingualism, differentiated instruction, work with learners’ preconceptions, formative assessment, and interdisciplinary cooperation. Grounded in current research in language pedagogy and educational theory, the publication serves both as methodological guidance and as a tool for professional self-reflection for prospective and practicing teachers across subject specializations. |
