Description The subject of the assessment are evolved igneous rocks represented by pegmatites and alkali-feldspar rocks (primarily granites and syenites), or and their metamorphosed equivalents. Rock bodies of evolved magmatic and pegmatite systems are real or potential sources of raw materials, which are considered as so-called strategic and/or critical raw materials within the EU and the Czech Republic. Among the EU's critical raw materials are beryllium, bismuth, lithium, niobium and tantalum, rare earth elements together with yttrium, scandium, titanium (or titanium metal), tungsten, zirconium and hafnium, other elements represented include tin, rubidium and cesium, uranium and thorium. The methodology summarizes the current criteria for usability of their minerals.
