Citation
Description Drawing on ethnographic historical research combining oral history interviews, archival sources and local print media, I was exploring how women in uranium mining regions of Western Moravia negotiated their sense of belonging between the highly masculinised space of the mine and the sphere of home and community. In this paper, I was asking how women made sense of their everyday lives in the context of risky male employment, socialist promises of equality and the later postsocialist restructuring and mine closure.
