| Description | High-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) remains a crucial technique for carbohydrate analysis in food and pharmaceutical industries. This study presents the optimization and validation of a rapid hydrophilic interaction liquid chromatography (HILIC) method with an evaporative light scattering detector (ELSD) for the identification and quantification of common mono- and disaccharides. The method optimization was performed using a multi-variable approach, specifically a central composite design (CCD) coupled with artificial neural networks (ANN) to predict optimal chromatographic conditions. The validated method demonstrated high selectivity, satisfactory recovery, and robustness, making it suitable for sugar profiling in complex matrices. |
