| Description | This study approaches adaptation not only as a cultural practice of transferring content between literature and film, but above all as a methodological challenge. Drawing on medial and intermedial theory, emphasizing the negativity of medium and its “blind spots”, adaptation is understood as a performative and differential act, in which literature enters film through its very absence. The connection of adaptation studies with intermediality and artistic practices that thematize the disappearance of the medium leads to the conclusion that adaptation can be conceived as a theoretical act: it reveals the limits and conditions of the medium and becomes a self-reflection of its own functioning. |
