| Description | This paper presents web-based virtual reality (VR) applications, demonstrating their advantages and limitations through practical verifications with varying immersion levels and interaction types. Immersion and interactivity are key concepts influencing the user experiences. These aspects were tested in three case studies, two from the field of spatial planning and one from crisis management. Each study used a different technology (A-Frame, 360 VR Experience and Wonderland Engine) and was verified on different devices (Pico Neo 3 Pro Eye, Oculus Quest 2, desktop monitors and mobile phones). Finally, benefits and both technological and usability challenges are discussed, as well as topics for future research, like the implementation of 3D tiles and the development of complex geo- collaborative environments. |
