| Description | The volume stems from the 8th Congress of Art Historians, held on 12–14 September 2024 at Masaryk University in Brno. The publication follows an initiative by Milena Bartlová, who in 2023 proposed a theme reflecting a sense of impending civilizational rupture — the climate crisis, political upheaval, ongoing wars, and the rise of artificial intelligence. The book raises a wide spectrum of questions through which contemporary art history mirrors the transformation we are living through. More than thirty studies, divided into eight thematic sections, explore topics ranging from anthropological experience and institutional change to ecological challenges, digital transformation, and the reassessment of traditional art-historical categories. |
