| Description | This study examines whether access to parental support depends on how adults became unpartnered, not just on their current partnership status. Using SHARE Wave 9 data (N = 55,956 parent-child dyads, 16 countries) and multilevel logistic regression, it shows that parents respond to children's visible biographical transitions (divorce, widowhood), while never-married adults, despite their equivalent unpartnered position, receive no comparable response. |
