| Description | This article examines the reclamation of areas affected by mining through the use of green infrastructure and nature-based restoration. It argues that post-mining landscapes can support a broad range of ecosystem services, including biodiversity conservation, erosion control, improved soil fertility, biomass production, and climate-related benefits. The article also highlights the legal framework governing reclamation in the Czech Republic and points to the need for a more integrated and publicly inclusive approach that would better support the restoration of postmining areas in line with contemporary environmental objectives, including the Nature Restoration Law. |
